Lower your scores, work on the most used club in your bag
Lets have a look at putting; this is one part of the game that golfers tend to overlook. Most golfers spend many hours hitting balls on the range trying to perfect their swings in an effort to lower their scores. I try to educate golfers to understand that the fastest way to better scores is to improve their putting skills as the putter is the most used club in the bag, it is the one club that is used on EVERY hole.
This months blog will give you an insight of what I teach my clients. Hopefully you will find the time to implement the advice given and this should be the first step towards lower scores.
The Hold – The hold is very important; it does not matter whether the left hand is above the right or visa versa. You must get both hands in the position so that the putter handle runs through your lifeline on each hand. This will maximise the chances of the putter remaining at right angles to the intended target line through the hitting area.
Position your hands on the handle so that your palms are facing each other with the putter positioned in the palms of each hand.
You should look to ensure that the putter shaft is an extension of your forearms.
